Hey there. So um, I've been thinking about the questions you said to think about.

[This voice is definitely female, but the accent and manner of speech are familiar, and the pitch and tone are similar enough that Rowan can probably figure out what's going on, in context.] So there's this spell called Alter Self, right? It was invented to like, give yourself gills or make yourself look like someone else, but you can totally use it to just change one aspect of your body, like your hands or your...well, my wife uses it to have a dick because she likes to top and it's easier than fucking around with one of those harnesses. I guess the changeflower keeps it from working, but I think I'll play around with it once this wears off.

[Breakfast in this case is in fact a late lunch, and they're aware that the fae want them out of the room so they can clean up, but they're ignoring them anyway.]

A few days after this conversation Rowan will find a piece of paper slipped under the door to their room. It's a sketch of a quaint little French bakery. Max was too embarrassed to give it to them in person, so he left it for them to find.

A small note written on the corner reads: "Told you I wasn't any good."

As promised, Rowan’s room can be found in the spring wing, a piece of paper with their name in bold, colourful, and at least slightly neater handwriting than their scribble in the tomes, decorating the ajar door.

Inside, the room is fairly sparse, especially since Rowan has just finished shoving what clothes they had lying around into the cupboard, aside from the walls. A good handful of pencil sketches have been pinned to the walls, especially by the desk, not bringing any colour to the room, but at least a hint of personality. Rowan themself is sitting cross legged on the bed, back against the headboard, as they lazily flick through the tome.

The experiment with Lucas and his shiny new collar had gone well. Really well. So Max is feeling confident to try it with Rowan now, too. It's been too long --way, way too long-- since he's enjoyed their touch. He misses it, and them, like a missing part of his soul. He hopes they will be open to trying this. He wants to get back up on the horse, metaphorically. He's given it a lot of thought.

In fact, he'll even come prepared with a long and very thought-out kink list which he will have tucked in a Wicked shopping bag next to a thick collar made of reddish brown leather, with a simple metal loop at the front. He's holding the bag up in front of him as he knocks on their door.

"Rowan? Are you busy right now?"

Curled up over their desk, Rowan glances up at the knock, but then brightens up immediately at the sound of Max's voice. Their heart leaps, and so do they, up and out of the chair, bounding over to the door to greet him.

"I'm always free for you." They promise brightly, about to throw their arms around him when they notice the bag and pause. But only for a second, before they do so anyway, wrapping their arms around his neck and kissing his cheek affectionately. "You been shopping?"

[Unusually, Rowan takes time over their spelling, grammar and handwriting, writing a note back to slip under her door rather than using the Tomes that they still don't entirely trust. It's folded into a sealed envelope with her name on the front, and they push it as far away from the door as they can manage so hopefully it'll be secure, or at least she'll know if someone else got into it first.]

[Rowan brings the doughnuts inside carefully, glancing over them to try and figure out who they're from - the last thing they need is for the fae to ruin the date they have with Max and Lucas later. But after changing to lupus and sniffing the tag, they recognise the scent on them and let out a huff of amusement and a wag of their tail.

They have to change back to write Lilith a message over the tomes, making sure it's private, as they assume she has a reason not to put her name on them.]

It seems like more and more these days, Rowan is hanging out in Max's room versus their own. Which is why Max decides to set up their new room divider next to his now considerably larger bed in his own room, rather than in theirs.

At a time when he knows they'll be getting back, he leaves it for them to find with a note pinned to it, as intended, that says their name nice and big.
