There is a chance that my influence will not be of much use. There was a natblida discovered not long before I died, trained by Nia - my enemy. She is older than the others and not prone to following laws. It is possible she could outmatch even all of the children combined and slaughter them.

If that does happen, then you just have to haunt the shit out of her until she sees things your way. [Rowan grins at her brightly, trying to lift her spirits. And also it's true. She might not be able to make things physically difficult for the person that follows her, but she'll have to make things as difficult as she is able to.]

I will certainly try. Fate owes me though, so I hope Aden was successful. Any of the children will help Clarke. They swore to me. They loved me... I only wish I lived longer so they could as well.

Milla. She is weirdly sturdy for her size. And possibly killed a deer with her hands. I never quite got around to confirming after she jumped me. Still nice.

[Probably not with her hands Rowan thinks, with a half smile. Silent probably took the smarter direction in just admitting to not being human but refusing to say what she is.]

Silent's nice. She's complicated and uncomplicated at the same time. And I don't have to worry about her appearing in the baths any more. [Rowan grins.] You know what Max and Lucas did for me? Asked for a shower in my room, so I don't even have to use the baths any more! [Yep, just moving this conversation along nothing to see here.]

What's a shower? [She is blessedly easily distracted tonight, and though she may have seen a shower before - she's not sure - she can't quite connect the word to what it is.]

We had baths at home but like... old barrels and steel tubs filled by jug. If you were lucky they were by a fire. That or we bathed in the river.

Oh man, you've never had a shower! It's great, like being under a warm waterfall or sommat. [Rowan has never been under a waterfall. But they can imagine!]

Warm water pouring from over your head constantly so you can wash everything off clean! You're welcome to pop round and see anytime if you want. I can piss off if you want to try it.

That does sound pleasant. [Especially given Rowans discomfort at being in the baths, however luxurious they were.]

I don't care if you see me naked, you know.

Just as well, 'cos I already have. [Rowan laughs; as awkward as it was at the time, it's in the past now.] I just figured it's nicer to have the option there. It's weird enough in the baths, but to shower when someone's hanging around dressed'd be even weirder.

It's only weird in the baths when men who think they are gods gift to women arrive. The rest of the time I do not mind it. You didn't like it at all though, when you realised I was there. The shower must be a great relief.

Yeah, I try not to let people see what I'm packing unless I'm about to get into bed with them. Helps me keep control over stuff, you know? It's good to have my privacy back. And I'm pretty sure that everyone's glad I'm clean properly again and not just taking whore's baths in my room. [They laugh, easily and relaxed. Now that it's in the past, it's not a problem that lingers for them.]

Are there a lot of people in the baths like that? All the blokes I've met here are okay. Okay - Harry, maybe, but everyone else.

...What is a whore's bath? [Rowan pls. She is too drunk and too from the apocalyptic future to get all of this.]

They do not try anything, but there are some. And a wishful thinker or two who forgets that I would never be with a man. I frighten the notion out of them quickly enough.

[Rowan can't help but chuckle at the idea of Lexa chasing someone who propositioned her out of the baths.] Bet that's a mistake no one's made twice! [They briefly wonder where they fall on her scale, but set the thought aside. As hot (and sweet) as she is, not while she's trying to deal with Ren, and absolutely not while she's drunk.]

And a whore's bath is washing the bits what show. Mostly. I have a jug and basin and a cloth in my room, so I'd only have to go to the baths to wash my hair or after a fuck. [Which was, admittedly, rather more often than they would have liked, but luckily, no longer an issue.]

[Considering they were laying together on Lexa's bed with nary a noise of complaint from Lexa... well. No one she didn't like at least a fair amount usually even got past the threshold to her room. She smiles softly.]

Only Damen, but I think he enjoys me beating him...

Not in the baths. When we spar. [He enjoyed it a little too much when she got him on the ground. Which, well, if he was going to give her an advantage she would take it.]

For most that would still be a lot of trips to the bath... I have to wash, I spar every day, train, run. I end up filthy even when sex is infrequent.

Yep, it was far too often for me. [Rowan laughs; they have no shame about their very active sex life. Lexa should just be glad that she's not stuck in spring so she doesn't have to hear it. Rowan's not the quietest person ever.]

Luckily that's my only attempts at exercise, though, so I could get away with it. If I had yours or Max's schedule I'd have been fucked. You ain't going to train tomorrow, though, are you? [They glance at the window. It's not lightening outside yet, but only because the nights are slowly getting longer.] Today.

[If it fazes Lexa at all it doesn't show. She didn't doubt Rowan was likely to be getting more than she usually did, but especially now when she was back to being a Beau exclusive zone. Which was more or less what she had been for most of her time here, anyway.]

Mmmn yeah... I'll be fine. Gotta do something or the complete uselessness of being here eats at you. Or I think too much. Like tonight. [Think too much, drink too much it was becoming a not frequent but nonetheless tried and true strategy.]

Yeah, well, over exercising ain't any more healthy than over drinking. [Rowan pokes her playfully in the arm.] And they don't balance one another out, neither.

So next time call me before you start and we can share the bottle, okay? [They chuckle, but they mean it. They're not one to judge someone for drinking, but drinking alone can be a slippery slope that they don't want her to fall down. Besides which, it means they're there to help her out before it gets this bad. Hopefully.]

It isn't over-exercising. I have trained nearly every day of my life. Also my death. [That, to Lexa, was like saying you could breathe too much. It was just part of living.]

Mmmn... if you want. I think I have some more if you want some. [Lexa said, suddenly compelled to get up and be a good host.]

Nope. [Rowan turns suddenly, wrapping their arms around her to hold her to the bed. Not that there's much strength in them, it's more of a show than anything.] You are done for the night. Morning. Whatever. And it's too early or late for me to get started.

[Okay, okay, fine. Lexa lets herself be stopped, leaning back against Rowan.]

And here I was trying to be fun. People don't think I'm fun, Rowan...

I think you're fun, and that you don't need to be pissed for it. Angry pissed or drunk pissed, for that matter.

You're using that word for a lot of things. [Lexa says, half complaining and half confused as she turns around to face Rowan as best as she can.] I wasn't raised to be fun. Or have fun. or smile... or kiss.

Nah, that's just what it means. [They let her turn, but keep their arms around her, since they haven't been knocked away yet. All the better to keep her from the booze, and maybe to get her to eventually sleep.]

Anyway, I can't say nothing about kissing, but you're getting pretty good at the other two, so stuff what you was raised as.

[Without her warpaint on, without her hair braided or her weapons strapped to her sides Lexa looks young in a way she doesn't understand how to be. The puffiness beneath her eyes only amplifies the effect as she looks at Rowan, her green eyes always carefully watching even when she was probably half made out of wine instead of woman.]

Beau likes to say that. [Lexa says, quietly.] Again and again as if I had not heard her. Since the day we met, I suspect until the day we part.

She hates how I was raised to be. The things my people do.

[Rowan's too soft for this. Their hold on her turns into a hug, and they run their fingers through her hair gently.]

I can't say as I like it all that much neither. But don't get me wrong, it's a part of you, and it always will be. Can't change that. Don't mean that you can't be more than that, though. You got the chance to be whatever you want to be here.

[She doesn't resist the hug at all, rather she leans into it and hugs Rowan back. Letting herself just exist like that for a few moments without replying.]

She tells me that, too. And I told Ren. I am different, both to my people and to what my people wanted me to be. I always was even before here.

You get used to always being wrong to someone when you are a leader.
