Yeah! I've got some magic that I don't have back home, but it's mostly stuff I could theoretically learn. But I know there's people from worlds that have no magic at all that have spells from my world and stuff like that.

It's good so far. It's...like a vacation, you know? I don't necessarily wanna live here but it's nice to visit.

That's good to know! It took me, like... god, almost ten years to figure that much out, so you're moving quicker than I did. [Of course, Rowan was a child and didn't have the luxury of a magic potion to literally try things out for the week, but that just makes them happy that Vax does have that option.]

Hopefully it stays good fun! You've only got a couple of days left now, right? Got any plans for it?

Nah, not really. I mean, no more than usual. I did go to the bonfire party, that was...nice. I think I'm still getting used to like, actually dressing more feminine. But no, I'm not making plans so much as like...

[This is the point where it occurs to him that sex plans are not the only possible plans.] Well, honestly it's just been good to let myself be a little more stable this time.

Staying stable is always good. And yeah, the bonfire party was fun. [They keep their tone light, trying to think of what happened before Ren threw Lucas half way across the beach.] Max did all the snacks, so that was why they were so good - have you met him yet? Shame I missed you, though. [And not really surprising, they left fairly early after everything.]

I've...met Max quite a few times, now, yep. I didn't get a chance to talk to him before he just, er, saw me like this, so there was...a conversation. [An awkward little laugh. But, you know, it happens!] And then a lot of not-conversating.

[Rowan chuckles. Well, there's no point in being ashamed of it.] Max ain't bad at the not-conversating. He had me wrapped round his fingers as soon he said he'd look forward to the surprise when we got to bed when I offered to tell him. [It's the sweetest response that Rowan's ever had to that awkward conversation, and they don't mind admitting it to someone who might understand some of what it meant to them.]

Awww. That's really good, I'm happy for you. He seems a sweet guy. When I explained him a little bit the reason for me taking the potion he was really understanding. He said he'd never think ill of me for it, and that it was okay to keep him in the loop more, rather than...

Well, I pointed out to him that I've got ways to keep him from touching my dick when I don't want it touched, and they worked so well on him he hadn't even noticed. [Little chuckle.] I dunno, I felt a little bad about it, but I guess I'm not really blaming myself for not reading his mind and knowing it would be safe, you know?

Don’t feel bad about it, plenty of people have stuff they don’t want to do for completely unrelated reasons. Max is safe but that don’t mean everyone is. I hate having to do the talk with people before anything happens. [They chuckle, trying to keep things from feeling too serious.] It’s a bigger cockblock than the actual problem, I swear. Maybe one day I’ll find a sexy way to do it. [But without putting them in danger, that’s always the issue.]

That's true. I mean, there's definitely been...both actively unsafe people and just, people who want to ask you a million questions which isn't the same thing as unsafe, but doesn't mean I want to deal with it.

[Now that's an idea for sex that Rowan hadn't thought about before, and they're not sure what to make of it, aside from that, like everything else, they'd be interested to try it.]

I told you, right? I don't mind this place all that much. And I got a more than a couple of good reasons going for that. [Max and Lucas being the immediate two that spring to mind, but there's certainly others that they're looking forward to spending more time with.]

Yeah, I like it here. It's good when people aren't...chafing at it. I understand it and some days I do too, still. But finding happiness here is possible, if you want it.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I miss home, and I'm pissed they decided to take stuff from me, but I'm always one to make the best of a situation anyway.
